Our Hiding Place

** For this shall everyone that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. ** Psalm 32:6,7

**Thou art my hiding place.**

What a beautiful statement!

When we are in danger, we can flee to the Lord. When we are anxious, worried or stressed we can find peace again with Him. When we cannot find the solution to our problems, when we are in unbearable pain, when we are short on money, when our family is suffering, when we are criticized, when we just can’t go one more step…..He is our refuge from the storms in life.

We can hide there next to Him. He will protect us, embrace us, encourage us, remind us of His love, and of his faithfulness. He will give us strength to go forward, and He will put a song in our hearts.

I woke up this morning feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Then in the next second a song was in my heart and mind….””stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blessed, finding as He promised, perfect peace and rest.””

At other times, the Lord has given me songs about his grace, his salvation and his sacrifice, of his victroy over death and sin and our enemy. Also, songs about heaven and eternity and seeing him face to face. He reminds me through song and his Word, that he is my Creator, my Protector, my Shepherd and my Redeemer.

Who else offers us all of this? What other God stands by his followers like ours? None of them.

That is why we can take refuge in Him. Because He is our safe place. Fully trustworthy and strong.

HE is why we sing, He is why we believe…..

That is why we can say….SELAH….peace, rest, pause, reflect……….breathe.

A musical and spiritual pause, so we can meditate on all that He is and all that He does and can do for us.

God is our refuge and a very present help in times of trouble. He is our Hiding Place.
