**For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.** Psalm 22:24
God is ready to listen to our prayers, our tears and our anguish. We should never be shy, nor embarrassed to approach God, looking for his help, his support, his Light, and his love to help us through. He is always available, at any hour of the day or night, wherever we find ourselves. He listens to us and rescues us and is strong for us when we are weak.
Sometimes, as a show of courage, or personal strength in a difficult trial we make the mistake of not putting everything in His hands.
I Corinthians 13 tells us that LOVE bears and endures all things. In the midst of problems, pain, and heartache, we are to go forward and still love the ones that have harmed us. After many years in ministry, I have learned to do this to some extent. I know what I should do in a trying situation and I do my best to act and react the way I should. I choose to do right even if I don´t feel right.
But I can get so caught up in not falling apart, in doing the right thing, or in being patient for the trial to end, that I, too often, forget to put the problem in God´s hands. I think I am being mature, or strong, or more spiritual by NOT talking to God about it.
It doesn´t matter how long it has been since we invited God to guide our lives, we can still forget some of the most basic things. I think David knew this and suffered from the same mistakes. So, in writing and singing about his life with God, he reminded himself and now reminds us to let God in on our everything. The good and the bad. The outcome might be the same, but we will not have gone through it alone.
So, whatever it is that is heavy on your heart, God is listening and wants to help.
