**Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. ** Psalm 16:1-3
We can never outgive God. Whether we are the widow giving her last mite or the millionaire giving out of his abundance, God always gives more to us than we could ever give because He has already given us His Best.
Every day we receive blessings, encouragement, provision and love from the rich Hand of God. His constant presence, and his faithful provision of our needs are the examples that teach us to be generous with others.
Paul, the apostle, reinforces the Psalmist’s words when speaking to the Galatians when he writes,
** As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.**
Wouldn’t it be a great habit to look at all that we receive each day with eyes of abundance? That somehow and with someone, we can share what we have received? It may be food, clothing, monetary or spiritual bounty, but all of it can be shared in some way with others. We receive a measure of God’s wealth every day, even every hour. What kind of world could we live in if each of us shared with others the riches of His kindness, goodness, gentleness, compassion, grace and mercy that God gives to us? I would like to live in that world, wouldn’t you?
