**The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.** Psalm 18:2
David celebrates once again the victory that God has given him over his enemies. What impacts me in this verse is the repetition of the possessive “my” within his praise. For me, he is not speaking out of self- exaltation but the use of “my” reminds us of the closeness, the intimacy and the familiarity that David has with God.
Like the LORD did with David, so our great God fights and defends all his children. Even more amazing than this universal care of His children, is that he fights for me and for you. Every one of His children is watched over and protected by His Omnipotent hand.
If you were the one person that existed on this Earth, God would fight for YOU.
If YOU have a problem or are up against an enemy, God will fight for You. YOU are in all of His thoughts. You do not form but a small part of His family but to God, YOU ARE His family!!
When YOU pray, God listens to YOU!! When YOU cry, He is at your side, comforting YOU!
Our God is a personal God, an intimate God and He pays attention to all of our needs always, without fail, without missing one detail.
We can confide in Him, and trust in Him, 100% of the time.
May each of us walk through this day with the reality and assurance that we are not alone…
Because WE are His and HE is OURS!!!
