** Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. ** Proverbs 13:12
All of us have heart’s desires that take time to come to fruition. We all go through seasons of discouragement, frustration, disappointment, impatience or loss of hope when time continues to move on and we see those desires still afar off.
Maybe we have faced a health trial, or a financial one. Maybe we are struggling in our marriage or with our children. Whatever the desire or hardship is, the time between the desire and its completion can be long and challenging to endure.
No matter what we continue to wait for and its coming to pass in our lives, we can hold on to the Lord’s promises while we wait. Our faith will be tested, we will be stretched possibly in every other area as well, but His promises are yea, and Amen…so be it! The Lord promises, all we have to do is hang on and believe, trusting in His Word and His love for us and we will see Him do the impossible, if necessary, to fulfill the desires of our heart.
A few promises to cling to in the meantime….
** I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. ** Philippians 4:13
** for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest…** Joshua 1:9b
** For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee,
neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. ** Isaiah 54:10
**Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. ** Psalm 16:11
** If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. ** James 1:5
** For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. ** Jeremiah 29:11
There are so many more promises that can also strengthen our faith, give us the courage to wait and to believe that the Lord will do what He promised, in a perfect way and at just the right time.
While we wait for the desires of our heart to be received, we can…
** Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. ** Proverbs 3:5,6
The Lord never forgets His promises to us.
