**Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.** Psalm 19:14
This verse has been a prayer of mine for many years. It is my desire to live as this verse encourages us to live. I would like my words to be positive and encouraging, and the thoughts in my heart to be kind and understanding. It is not always so, but the desire is continually there.
David´s prayer as he finishes this Psalm is sincere and transparent before his God. He wants to be all that his God wants him to be. It is the result of recognizing earlier in this passage that creation´s purpose is to declare God´s glory, and that His Words give joy, light, purity, justice and warns us of evil. God is his all in all.
David tells us that God´s Word is to desired more than all earthly riches. And as we continue learning from it, our hearts are changed and cleansed. Our prayer, just like David´s, invites the Lord to continue His work in us.
What would our lives be like if we never failed in what we say or in what we think? What kind of impact could we have on others for their good? What kind of person would we be?
Would people not recognize us?…OUCH!!!
But if we could speak and think in a way that pleased a compassionate God, wouldn´t we live in complete peace? Wouldn´t we be free of worry and anxiety and anger and frustration?
I think we would. And I would love that! To wake up EVERY DAY happy and joyful and only expecting good things to happen! Not that we would live in Oz or Wonderland, but that whatever came our way we were able to face it joyfully, with faith, and not lose our peaceful spirit.
I would love to live in that world! Wouldn´t you?
