5 MORE Great Reasons to Be Happy is part 2 of our last post. We could probably keep this conversation going for several more posts. Once we start to really look at all the positive aspects of our Christian lives, it is hard to stop naming them.
Let’s get right to reasons #6-10.
#6 THE LORD’S MAJESTY. –** They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord ** (Isaiah 24). Solomon was clothed with great majesty. His richness and his gift of wisdom left others in awe in his presence. No one lived in such splendor as Solomon. But, the light and glory of the Lord when we see Him will leave us more spellbound than anyone ever was upon meeting King Solomon. The Lord’s majesty is like walking into the most beautiful garden, filled with the most brilliant light that gives off such warmth and welcome that we will be feeling like we are truly home for the first time. His majesty will also leave us wanting to throw ourselves on the ground in worship of the One so superior to our meager existence.
#7 OUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN! –Maybe we should have put this as #1 in our last post. Knowing without a shadow of a doubt that our sins are forgiven is absolutely something to shout about! God is the ONLY ONE that truly has forgiven and forgotten about every one of sins, even the dark ones that only He knows about! The Lord has forgiven us more than our parents forgive us, more than our spouse or our best friend has forgiven us. Because He has never walked away from us when we did or said something He didn’t like. He never puts us at a distance for a season because of our words or our actions. He is always close, always forgiving, always merciful and always kind. Romans 4:7 makes us happy when it says ** Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. ** Today is a perfect day to think about that. Nothing we have ever said or done is putting a strain on our relationship with the Lord. NOTHING! Can we say that about anyone else? Oh, HAPPY DAY!!
#8 THE ABILITY TO HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD — Being able to read and understand the Word of God and hearing His still small voice speak to us anytime we want to read or listen is a privilege. It is something to be over-the-top happy about. ** Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. ** Proverbs 8:34 tells us. This may be something that over time we take for granted. We forget how many people open their Bible and have no idea what the words mean. If there is any one great thing that we could be happy about it may be this: the honor of having the Creator of the Universe speak to us anytime we ask Him to.
#9 SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS –Ephesians 1:3–** Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:**. That is a mouthful! It means that God has given us the power to become sons of God (John 1). Also, we are His heirs (1 Corinthians 3). We know the wonder that is waiting for us in eternity (1 Corinthians 2 & 3). We are able to understand the Word of God. (John 14)
These are just a few of the Spiritual Blessings waiting for us in heavenly places. But just these few can give us plenty to be happy about!
#10 HE IS COMING AGAIN! –We have made it to Number 10! Ten great reasons to be happy! Ten great reasons to keep moving forward. !0 great reasons to not give up, and to not focus too much attention or energy on this world’s problems. Because even though we have so much to be happy about here, today, there are so many more happy things waiting for us in eternity. And if the Lord wills, we may even be able to have the icing on the cake-to see the Lord come in the clouds, calling us home.
It isn’t something we might think about everyday, but He promised He would be back. He promised that we would be at His side to fight the last battle and to reign with Him for 1,000 years. ** All the promises of God in Him are yea and in Him, Amen**. If He said it, He meant it. So, He is coming, soon.
Titus 2:13–** Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; ** Number 10 in a great list of reasons to be happy. Our faith, our salvation, our hope, spiritual blessings, hearing His voice….so many great reasons! And the list doesn’t end there. It goes on and on, from Genesis to Revelation!
